From a Grilling Fiasco to a BBQ Revolution
OUTDOORCHEF's origins are as unique as our products: In 1992, Mike Lingwood failed in his attempt to conjure up a stress-free BBQ for his daughter's birthday guests. Grease fires, smoke, and charred food led to the realization: grilling had to be easier, safer, and better. His inventiveness and some experiments with a washing machine drum finally brought about the breakthrough: the OUTDOORCHEF funnel system – a now legendary, two-part heat system that prevents grease flames, distributes heat evenly, and enables temperatures of up to 500°C. To this day, it remains a trademark of our kettle grills – and a symbol of our quest for better and easier grilling.
