7.1.2 surround sound, from a single box
Packed into the Sony’s stylish case are two up-firing speakers, two beam tweeters and five front speakers. There’s also a built-in dual subwoofer for added bass. When combined, this impressive speaker array delivers full 7.1.2 surround sound, letting you enjoy the full thrill of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks.

Just like the best cinemas, the HT-A7000 gives a strong height dimension to the sound – making you feel like you’re in the jungle or experiencing the aircraft flying overhead. Sony’s Vertical Surround Engine, with up-firing speakers gives this cinematic experience, without the need for actual ceiling speakers.

Immersive Audio Enhancement
If you enjoy the sound immersion of 7.1.2 surround sound but want to experience it with other formats, such as music and gaming, then simply switch to Immersive Audio Enhancement. This adds overhead sound to conventional surround sound and even stereo audio – giving all your movies, music and games a whole new dimension.

Take the next step, with an optional subwoofer
Although the HT-A7000 has a subwoofer built-in, for bass that you can really feel, simply upgrade with the optional SA-SW3 or SA-SW5 subwoofer. These take the bass to completely new level, introducing rumble and thunder to the soundtrack, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Wireless connectivity cuts the clutter.

Optional wireless surround
For an even more immersive sound, add the optional SA-RS3S wireless rear speakers. These further enhance the impression of immersive sound, with the two-way speakers firmly pinpointing the special effects all around you.

X-Balanced speakers for maximum sound
Sony’s X-Balanced speaker units differ from regular speakers in their unique, rectangular shape. This shape maximises the cone area, giving more punch per cm2. The design also reduces driver excursion, meaning you get less distortion and greater vocal clarity.

Hi-Res sound, DSEE enhancement and 360 Reality Audio
Compatibility with Hi-Res sound gives you ‘better than CD sound’ from high-resolution music files. Google Chromecast built-in
Chromecast lets you stream music, podcasts and audio apps, including Google Play, at the touch of a button. Having it built-in saves the battery life on your phone as the phone's Bluetooth transmission system isn't used for this purpose. Being able to stream straight from the cloud also gives the best audio quality.

Stream your music with wireless Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and Wi-Fi
More than just a boost for your TV sound, the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar also makes a handy speaker for your music. Pair with your smartphone, tablet or computer and you'll be able to stream all your stored music and favourite streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music. Networking is further enhanced by Wi-Fi connectivity, including Apple’s AirPlay 2. Wi-Fi lets you stream music from other, networked devices around your home. AirPlay 2 is the ideal wireless music system for streaming from your Apple iOS device, such as iPhone and iPad.

Easy set-up
Despite its technical sophistication, the HT-A7000 is easy to get the best from. Simply plug into your TV using the HDMI eARC connection and power on. A second HDMI, USB, optical and analogue inputs are all on hand for adding your other sources. Sound Field Optimisation uses built-in microphones, automatically measuring the room’s dimensions and tailoring the sound to suit – all at the touch of a button.
